YesWelder Helmet Review: What You Should Know Before Buying YesWelder 302C Auto Darkening Welding Helmet

yeswelder helmet review

Safety standards

ANSI Z87.1-2003 is the safety standard for welding helmets (ANSI stands for American National Standards Institute and Society of Safety Engineers). The producers of auto-darkening lenses and helmets are regulated by this standard.

YesWelder 302C welding helmet complies with EN379, EN175, EN166, CSA, and ANSI ISEA Z87.1 safety and technical standards.

Speed of switching

The shade of the lens will be #3 or #4 when you are not welding and should change to #9 or higher the moment you strike a welding arc. The time it takes for this to happen is referred to as switching time. After the welding is finished, selecting the incorrect switching may cause you to have fatigued eyes.

The YesWelder 302C helmet has a switching time of 1/25000th, and 1/30000th of a second. Whichever YesWelder Helmet Review you read, this is a good speed for a welding helmet.

Source of power

For your ADF welding helmet to run, you’ll need a lithium-ion battery (also known as coin cells), either with or without solar assist panels. Battery life will be longer for those who have these panels.

YesWelder helmet battery of the 302C Auto Darkening is a lithium-ion battery, which is solar-powered.

Optical clarity

Optical clarity, which is regulated by European Standards EN 379, is crucial because the clearer your vision, the better you can weld.

The four numbers used to represent the ratings stand for the aspects of the ratings: optical class (distortion), light diffusion (blurriness), the disparity in luminous transmission (uniform shade), and angle dependence.

Each aspect is rated on a scale of 1 to 3. (1 is perfect and 3 is worst). As a result, the YesWelder 302C score of 1/1/1/1 means exceptional clarity. In fact, every YesWelder Helmet review confirms that they have no complaint about the clarity of this helmet.

Viewing area and the number of sensors

While wearing a welding helmet, you could be able to see more of your surroundings or you could concentrate just on the welding area. Keep in mind that a wider viewing area entails a larger and heavier helmet. The front viewing area of the YesWelder 302C helmet is 3.94 2.64, while the side windows are 1.38 /2.56 2.36.

Higher-quality coverage needs a greater number of sensors. The sensors will be able to immediately detect the welding arc and change the lens’s shade. The helmet YesWelder 302C includes 6 quality sensors.

Don’t listen to all these reviews this is a bad azz helmet

This helmet is way worth the money , don’t listen to these reviews saying its bad , because them are for the other helmets . this one is impressive. The auto dim side screens are pretty awesome , and my 17 year old has used it daily for 2 months and it is very much done its job. U can actually see true colors through the lenses . notice in my picture u can see the color of the slide easily. In daytime light. He’s not had it fail on him at all no flashing! I first bought the one w lightning on it, and that one I returned its very cheap and flimsy . this one is great quality

I can finally see what I am doing

As an inexperienced welder I was having a lot of trouble seeing what I was working on as I was welding. This helmet allows you to adjust to an even lighter mode and it was the change that I needed. I was so frustrated when I started welding that I almost gave it up because I thought that I would never be a welder. my welds are still not perfect but they are getting better all the time just because I can see what I’m working on.

Really, really good for the price.

I came from a Miller Digital Elite. This is twice as easy to see out of. Plus, way better field of view. It will definitely screw with you at first because it’s blue not green. I hated the head gear at first, until I figured out the spacing adjustment for distance from your face. It does not flash me. I was able to get it set for a variety of MIG welding. And now I love it.

I use it to grind as well, and the button isn’t super conveniently placed. But easy enough to poke a finger through the bottom and flip. There is no warning that you are in grind mode. You have to pay attention. It does an excellent job however at dimming just enough. It will auto through low power welding and the lower side of high without doing anything. It adjusts automatically from your base settings. It’s not the lightest helmet. And it likes to tip down on its own a lot. I would not consider it heavy. It’s just not super lightweight.

Overall, I don’t think you can beat this for the price. Or even 2-3x the price.

I personally do not like the look of it. So I wrapped mine. YMMV.

YesWelder 180 view

I was skeptical at first. I compared the plastic against my Lincoln. I thought the YesWelder plastic felt thin and cheap. After comparing against the Lincoln, it’s about the same without actually using a caliber. I think the Lincoln helmet edge has a more lip which makes it seem thicker. The actual view makes seeing the weld and stick night and day difference. I would never go back to the old way.

I always had a hard time seeing and now it’s like someone remove the limo tint off. The helmet is comfortable compare to the Lincoln. The strap seems cheap because it doesn’t hold it’s round shape. I believe because it’s a little more flexible as to the typical strap that’s harder. The side knobs are ok at making the lid stay up. The lid does go down a little some times. My Lincoln does the same. I do notice that when lowering the lid, it will go pass a certain position. Meaning, I forget to pull the lid down just enough so it doesn’t touch my chin. I don’t have that issue with the Lincoln.

I like that they give you a cover. Lincoln didn’t do that. When adjusting the lens, I look at the sun directly cause that’s what I was taught. The lens didn’t get dark. I decided to just use it. It works when to weld. That’s the only thing different that I noticed compare to my Lincoln.

Conclusion

The YesWelder 302C Auto Darkening Welding Helmet is one of the highest-quality and most reasonably priced welding helmets you can find. We hope our YesWelder Helmet review and YesWelder coupon codes here are helpful for you.
